About Issa Kabar
Issa Kabar is a practicum student pursuing his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Christian University and is under the supervision of Myles Schutte, LPC-S. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the Yarmook University-Jordan, as well as a Graduate level of Theological Studies hours in Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary, and has gained valuable experience in pastoral care as he is the Associate Pastor in the Arabic Church of Houston. He is fluent in English and in Arabic.
Issa is passionate about counseling adolescents, young adults, and individuals with challenges such as depression, anxiety, spiritual struggles, and relational issues. His therapeutic approach integrates Biblical principles with clinical methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and individual counseling.
While he values the benefits of incorporating biblical principles in the counseling process, Issa fully respects the wishes of clients who prefer not to combine these elements. This commitment to honoring clients' beliefs helps foster trust and promote the therapeutic relationship.
In his free time, Issa enjoys being with family and friends, playing music (Piano and Lute), cooking, and reading. He enjoys learning new things and expanding his skill set and education
